A man calling himself “Bikoy,” the hooded figure in a series of videos linking President Rodrigo Duterte’s family to illegal drug activities, surfaced at the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) office in Ortigas on Monday to seek legal assistance.
“I am Bikoy. I am a real person and not a pigment of imagination like what other people are saying,” said Peter Joemel Advincula who appeared in the “Ang Totoong Narcolist” videos.
In a statement in Filipino, Advincula said he was at the IBP to seek legal assistance.
“I need a lawyer to whom I can submit my sworn affidavit and help me file a case against members of the syndicate,” said Advincula.
Fajardo said that Advincula appeared at the IBP office just like any other client seeking legal advice.
Fajardo said the IBP has yet to determine whether it would take on Advincula’s case.
“Bikoy” appeared in a five-part video in April linking members of Duterte’s family to illegal drugs: son Paolo; lawyer Manases Carpio, husband of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio; and daughter Veronica, the President’s daughter with Honeylet Avancena.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested one Rodel Jayme, web developer of MetroBalita.net, where the videos appeared.
Jayme denied he uploaded the videos but vowed to cooperate with the NBI as state witness. ARIC JOHN SY CUA
