A GROUP of overseas Filipinos will be staging a “global protest” at the Philippine consulates and embassies because they have not yet received their ballots, two weeks before the actual elections.

In a two-minute video statement that was shared on Facebook on Thursday night, San Francisco-based lawyer Rodel Rodis said that in previous elections, “we have always received our ballots with plenty of time to mail them so that they can be counted. Now, we’re only less than two weeks away from the elections of May 13, and we still haven’t received our ballots.”

“We are registered voters in the Philippine elections,” said Rodis who claimed in the video that they have received reports that there was no money allocated to pay for the mailing of the ballots.

“It is concerning for us, so we are calling for nationwide, if not global-wide protests about the failure to deliver our ballots to us, so that we can be able to vote,” he said.

The protests are set on Monday.
