Curry playing, Thompson a maybe for Game 1

The Houston Rockets took care of business during the regular season as they beat the Warriors in three out of four meetings. (3:16)

Warriors star guard Stephen Curry will play in Game 1 of Golden State’s playoff series against the Houston Rockets on Sunday after being listed as questionable because of an ankle injury.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr announced Curry’s status Sunday afternoon, adding that fellow injured All-Star Klay Thompson will be a game-time decision.

Kerr said Thompson, who also has an ankle injury, will warm up pregame before the Warriors decide whether he’ll play.

“If [Thompson’s injury] is going to get worse, we should not play him today,” Kerr told reporters.

There is optimism that Thompson will play, but the bigger question is whether there will be limitations on his mobility, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

An MRI on Thompson’s right ankle returned clean on Saturday night.

Reserve guard Austin Rivers (illness) will not play for the Rockets.
