PNP asks public to remain calm after magnitude 6.1 quake

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) urged the public to remain calm after a magnitude 6.1 earthquake shook several parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, at around 5:11 p.m. on Monday, April 22.

“In view of the earthquake felt today, the PNP asks the public to remain calm. Follow the drill and procedures on earthquake if necessary,” PNP spokesperson Col. Bernard Banac said in a statement.
“We assure our people that the PNP will stay to provide security, remain alert, and ready to respond for any call for help,” Banac said.
