Parts of Intramuros to be closed starting Holy Wed

PARTS of Intramuros, Manila will be closed starting on Wednesday in observance of Holy Week 2019 as the Intramuros Administration (IA) is expecting more than 900,000 local and foreign pilgrims and tourists to visit the Walled City.
IA said that Intramuros had about 900,000 visitors during the Holy Week last year.
The IA will close General Luna Street to all vehicles starting the night of Holy Wednesday at 7 p.m. until Good Friday when stations of the Cross or series of images depicting the passion of Jesus Christ will be displayed from Beaterio to Muralla near the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila from April 18 to 20.
The administration will also close several cultural sites and museums.
Casa Manila and Baluarte de San Diego will be closed on April 18 and 19 and open on April 20 and 21.
San Agustin Museum, Rizal Shrine, Bagumbayan Lights and Sounds Museum, Instituto Cervantes and the National Commission for the Culture and the Arts Gallery will be closed from April 18 to 20.
Fr. George J Willman SJ Museum and the Destileria Limtuaco will be closed from April 18 to 21 while Bahay Tsinoy will not be open from April 18 to 22. CATHERINE A. MODESTO
