THE hour-long yellow alert in the Luzon grid on Friday was lifted, the Department of Energy (DoE) said in an advisory.
A sufficient operating reserve caused by low actual demand prompted the DoE to bring down the alert at 3:22 p.m. after it was first raised at 2 p.m.
The DoE said that, along with the “energy players,” it was “closely monitoring the increases in demand and the power plants.”
The DoE raised the yellow alert for the fifth consecutive day as some power plants in the Luzon grid were either running below capacity or were not operational. JORDEENE B. LAGARE
