The Bureau of Immigration (BI) is deporting an American fugitive wanted for a string of criminal cases including murder in the United States.
BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said 38-year-old Antonio Marsonel Wilson is now in BI’s custody following his arrest on March 27 in Angeles City by agents from the bureau’s fugitive search unit (FSU).
The BI chief said Wilson is subject of an arrest warrant issued by the US district court in Warren County, Kentucky.
Aside from murder, Wilson was also indicted on charges of first-degree assault, domestic violence, possession of a firearm and handgun by a convicted felon, tampering with physical evidence, trafficking in marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
It was learned that Wilson had also pleaded guilty to drug conspiracy and four counts of distributing crack cocaine.
Morente described the American as a “hardened and incorrigible criminal whose presence here poses a serious threat to the lives and well-being of Filipinos.”
He said the BI board of commissioners will issue the order for Wilson’s deportation to facilitate his immediate expulsion so he could be made to answer for his crimes.
Wilson also made headlines in Kentucky in June last year after deputies from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office arrested Wilson for assaulting and attempting to shoot his son with a handgun.
Wilson’s son said he grabbed his father by the arm holding the gun and held on to it as his father bit him.
He was struck in the left side of the head by the gun during the incident that he was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Wilson is currently held in BI’s detention center in Bicutan, Taguig, pending his deportation. (Jun Ramirez)
