Rappler founder Maria Ressa was arrested early Friday at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport as ordered by a Pasig court.
“Landing in a short while to face my latest arrest warrant and the 7th time I will post bail. #HoldTheLine we pledge to not just hold power to account but I will mark every violation of my rights under the PH Constition,” Ressa tweeted moments after arriving.
Two female Pasig police officers served the arrest warrant issued by the Pasig Regional Trial Court Branch 265 on Thursday, a day prior to her return to the country from a San Francisco Trip.
The case stemmed from a National Bureau of Investigation complaint related to the issuance of Philippine Depositary Receipts to Omidyar Network, an Indonesian company that invested in Rappler.
