Farmer found dead in Isabela

SAN MARIANO, Isabela – A local farmer was found dead inside his residence on Sunday, police said.

Chief Insp. Fedimar Quitevis, this town’s police chief, said Victor Tayaban sustained gunshot wounds to his head and a stab wound on his neck.

Investigators are looking into a land dispute with another farmer as one of the motives behind the murder.

Tayaban was a native of Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya but relocated here in 2012.

The victim was living alone and police believed he was killed while asleep. / gsg
