7 robbery suspects killed in shootout with police in Batangas

SEVEN alleged members of a robbery group were killed in an armed confrontation with police on Monday morning in Agoncillo, Batangas.
The unidentified members of the Baklas Bubong Robbery Group clashed with police in Barangay Banyaga at 4:45 a.m.
The suspects, on board a white Toyota Hi-Ace Van, ignored a Commission on Elections checkpoint and rammed the barriers in Barangay Beriniyan.
Police were dispatched to conduct a lockdown at the boundary of Laurel and Agoncillo.
Police flagged down the reported van in Barangay Banyaga but instead of stopping, the driver stepped on the gas, with his accomplices firing at the lawmen.
A firefight broke out that resulted in the deaths of the suspects.
No police personnel was hurt during the armed encounter.
