Salazar was also chairman of non-bank financial institution OmniPay, Inc.
“With heavy hearts, the shareholders, board of directors, officers and staff of OmniPay announce the passing of our beloved Chairman of the Board, Melito Salazar Jr., this morning (February 16),” OmniPay said in a Facebook post.
The cause of death was not disclosed.
Salazar joined MAP in August 1999 and served as its president in 2013.
The former MAP president’s remains lie at Arlington Memorial Chapels & Crematory at Aeternum, Heritage Park, Bonifacio Global City and is open for viewing until February 22.
