The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Wednesday afternoon seized some 36 kilos of shabu worth P244,800,000 during a search in the rented house of a Chinese national in Cavite.
On the strength of the search warrant issued by Judge Agripino Morga, the anti-narcotics operatives
led by PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino lawfully barged into the residence of Jun Wah Ting on Block 37, Lot 7, Citrus St., Pacific Park Place, Barangay Paliparan, Dasmariñas town.
At about 5 p.m., the PDEA team rummaged through the items inside the house of Wah Ting and discovered the contraband which also included numerous backpacks believed to be used as the mode for concealment for the illegal drugs.
On the same day at around 3 a.m., PDEA agents arrested Wah Ting and his compatriot Patrick Bangkee where two kilos of shabu and 15 transparent plastic sealed of shabu worth P13.6 million were confiscated during a buy-bust operation in Quezon City.
The early morning buy-bust operation was conducted on 33 Don Ramon St., Talayan Village where the raiding team also seized four cellular phones, numerous ATM cards, and P5,000 cash.
Aquino said that Wah Ting has been under surveillance for months before the PDEA agents made the arrest.
The PDEA chief noted that Wah Ting, who is also an illegal drug kingpin, is the supplier of the vehicles used by Vincent Lim Du to transport illegal drugs in Metro Manila, Southern Tagalog, and nearby areas.
On Feb. 3, Du Lim and Hong Li Wen were killed as PDEA agents and the police seized P1.9-billion worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation at a warehouse in Tanza, Cavite.
The operation conducted at Barangay Amaya 1, Antero Soriano Highway, led to the confiscation of 272 kilos of the illegal drugs. (Chito Chavez)
