MANILA, Philippines — Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. defended once again the Chinese woman who threw taho (soy pudding) at a police officer last Saturday.
She was flinging taho, not encroaching in our national territory. She has a visa, which she will lose, but oh well… brain explosion. https://t.co/I7tCEgKhay

“She was flinging taho, not encroaching in our national territory,” Locsin said in a tweet on Monday amid calls for the deportation of 23-year-old Jiale Zhang.
Zhang, who is a fashion design student, threw the soy snack at PO1 Willam Cristobal when she was not allowed to enter the train at the Boni Avenue Station of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) because she was carrying food. The MRT-3 management earlier imposed a liquid ban in train stations as a security measure.

“She has a visa, which she will lose, but oh well… brain explosion,” Locsin added.
The country’s top diplomat has earlier dismissed the idea of deporting Zhang and said that the incident, which he described as a “non-issue trying to be one,” could have happened to anyone in any country. /ee
