Former Special Assistant to the President and senatorial candidate Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go turned emotional as he affirmed President Duterte’s role as a father figure in his life and a father figure to the Filipino people.

“Nakita ko kay Pangulong Duterte ang isang tunay na ama na talagang nagmamahal, di lang sa akin kung hindi sa lahat ng Pilipino. Siya talaga ang inyong tunay na Tatay Digong na nagmamahal sa kanyang kapwa tao,” Go stated following the successful airing of the special “Maalala Mo Kaya” episode on ABS-CBN Channel 2 that featured his life story and Duterte.

The biographical episode shown last Saturday night featured actor Joseph Marco, who portrayed Go; actress Meg Imperial, who played Go’s wife, Emmylou; and Phillip Salvador, who portrayed Duterte.

Go last Sunday attended an event at the EDSA Shangri-La Plaza Hotel in Mandaluyong City organized by leaders of Region 4-A or the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon area in which he was proclaimed an adopted son of the region. In the event, governors of Region 4-A also declared their full support for Go’s candidacy in the May midterm elections.

Go was humbled and honored by the show of support by the leaders of Region 4-A.  “Maraming, maraming salamat sa inyong mga assurances, tulong, at inyong mga commitments,” Go stated.
