Masbate village chief survives ambush, son wounded

MANILA, Philippines – A barangay captain survived an ambush while his teenaged son was wounded over the weekend in Masbate City.
Police said Raul Dapedran, 42, chief of the Barangay Madao in Uson, Masbate was on his motorcycle with his son when they were attacked by four still unidentified suspects.
Dapedran managed to speed past the suspects who opened fire and hit his son on the stomach.
The Bicol regional police office on Monday said further investigation is ongoing. / gsg
