MANILA, Philippines — A Human Chain was held along Baywalk at Roxas Boulevard to protest against issues under the Duterte administration such as drug war killings, lowered age of criminal liability and extended martial law in Mindanao.
Thousands of members from religious groups, Lumad and youth groups joined the protest.
Lumad groups were carrying placards, saying: “Martial Law in Mindanao, ibasura,” “Save Lumad Schools” and “End Martial Law.”
Others were calling for justice for human rights victims and lamenting the proposed law to lower the age of criminal liability.
