MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Monday announced that no Filipinos were reported wounded after air strikes rocked several areas in Syria.
The DFA nevertheless urged Filipinos to remain vigilant and on alert.
Filipinos in the capital city of Damascus were told to stay indoors and avoid “unnecessary movement” after it was recently bombed.
“The Philippine Embassy in Damascus issued another advisory early Monday urging Filipinos to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary movement after several locations in the Syrian capital were subjected to missile strikes,” the DFA said in a statement.
“Embassy Charge d’Affaires Alex Lamadrid reported there were no Filipinos affected in the two incidents,” it added.
About 1,000 Filipinos are currently residing in Syria, the DFA said.
