The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cautioned the public against the presence of five unregistered food products in the market.
The FDA, in its advisory, named the unregistered products as Bonito Soup Stock, Meito Vitamin C Nodoame Mix Fruits 1000mg, Daiso Select Carbonara Sauce, Hammer on Pretzel Garlic Butter Taste, and Daiso Select Sukiyaki Sauce.
The FDA said that the products have not undergone evaluation.
“(These) food products have not gone through the registration process of the agency and have not been issued the proper authorization in the form of Certificate of Product Registration,” said the FDA.
“In light of the foregoing, the public is advised not to purchase the aforementioned violative products,” it added.
The FDA warned that consumption of such violative products may pose potential health hazard to the consuming public.
“Since unregistered food products have not gone through evaluation and testing process of the FDA, the agency cannot guarantee their quality and safety,” the agency said.
“All concerned establishments are warned not to distribute the said violative food products until they have already been covered by the appropriate authorization (product registration), otherwise, regulatory actions and sanctions shall be strictly pursued,” said the FDA.
All Local Government Units (LGUs) and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) are likewise requested by the FDA to ensure that the said products are not sold or made available in their localities or areas of jurisdiction. (Analou de Vera)
