MANILA, Philippines — Former Executive Secretary and now Partido ng Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP) senatorial candidate Vic Rodriguez took a swipe at President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s senatorial slate, saying he is a “proud member” of “team suka,” which translates to “team vinegar.”
“Atin pong lalabanan ang team sinusuka. Labanan natin ang mga mambubudol,” Rodriguez said in response to Marcos’ remarks that he pities the rival team of his senatorial slate because some candidates look as if they were “merely tasked to deliver vinegar and were given certificates of candidacy on a whim.”
(We will fight the team we like to vomit. We will fight the scammers.)
Although Marcos did not name candidates, the President’s remark did not sit well with PDP bets, including Rodriguez.
“Even though I was tasked to buy vinegar many times, I have a diploma and a law degree. And most of all, I have a certificate that proves that I am a lawyer,” he said in Filipino.
