Miss Universe PH-Pasig runner-up stuns audience with underwear ‘secret’

Miss Universe Philippines-Pasig fourth runner-up Anthonet Faith Bernardo drew laughs and, at the same time, awe from pageant fans after she got very candid and revealed that she was not wearing any underwear underneath her finals night gown.

The 18-year-old beauty queen made the revelation during the competition’s question-and-answer portion on Friday, Jan. 31, after she was asked by pageant judge Shamcey Supsup-Lee to give “at least one secret that [she is] okay to share” to the live audience.

“This secret will be okay for me to share but I think my family won’t be okay with this. To be honest, I’m wearing this beautiful gown from Gerald Yacat, but I don’t have an underwear. That’s my secret,” Bernardo said.

Conservative family

Like what she surmised while answering Supsup-Lee’s question, Bernardo’s family was taken aback by her answer.

“I come from a somewhat conservative family, so they were surprised by my answer,” the beauty queen told INQUIRER.net. “As much as I wanted to keep it concise, they told me that I should’ve elaborated it.”

Speaking about her dress, on the other hand, Bernardo regarded it as the “perfect gown” for the coronation night, recalling how she was immediately drawn to it the moment she saw it.

Also touching on her pageant journey, the young beauty queen, who is a first year communication student, credited her family’s belief in her as well as her personal dream as what prompted her to join MUPH-Pasig.
