1 dead, 1 hurt in heated argument between workers in a Cavite resort

LUCENA CITY — A man was shot and killed while another one was wounded after a heated argument turned bloody between workers in a resort in Silang, Cavite on Saturday night, Jan. 25, police said.

In a report Sunday, Jan. 26, the Police Region 4A said three workers identified as “Jabbar,” “Carlo” and “Rico” at Hacienda El Vinarios Resort in Barangay (village) Bucal were having a good time drinking liquor and swimming at the pool around 9:15 p.m.

Suddenly, two of their co-workers, “Dionisio” and “Emilinda” appeared and castigated them for using the swimming pool which they were about to clean as ordered by the resort owner.

The three workers left and returned a few moments later.

Carlo, armed with and M-16 rifle, repeatedly shot Dionisio in different parts of his body. Emelinda was also hit on her leg.

As the two victims were sprawled on the ground, Jabbar and Carlo, both armed with bolos, also attacked them, police said.

Jabbar and Carlo fled after the incident while Rico, who was left behind, was arrested by the police.

Both victims were rushed to Tagaytay Medical Center in neighboring Tagaytay City but Dionisio died while undergoing treatment.

Investigators recovered the firearm used in the shooting.

Police launched a manhunt operation to arrest the two other suspects.
