Dionne Monsanto reveals miscarriage of second baby in birthday post
Dionne Monsanto revealed that she suffered a miscarriage of her second baby last July and how she managed to cope with its “immense pain,” as she celebrated her 39th birthday.
Monsanto, who turned 39 last December 5, took to her Instagram page days later to recall how her miscarriage allowed her to become a “stronger” version of herself.
“Stronger at 39. This has been such a challenging year. In July, my husband and I rejoiced at knowing that we were pregnant with baby #2. Then devastated when we went for a checkup and found out that our baby did not have a heartbeat,” she said.

The “Pinoy Big Brother” alum shared how the miscarriage took a toll on her while recalling how much courage it took for her to cope with the pain. “The toll a failed pregnancy takes on you emotionally, mentally, and physically is crippling.”

“No one tells you of the courage you muster to wake up in the morning to pick up the pieces of yourself that shattered the night before and the many nights before that,” she continued. “No one fully knows of the strength you manage to gather to have some hint of hope so you can keep your sanity, so you can continue to show up for your family, and yourself.”

As she celebrated her birthday, the actress hoped that looking back at her experience will remind fellow mothers to keep going while noting that it’s a “celebration of [her] strength.”
“I share this in hopes that it would reach someone who needs a nudge to keep going, despite the odds, despite the pain. I celebrate me and my strength. And if you’re reading this, and have gone through and survived a painful experience, I celebrate your strength too,” she said.
