The summer transfer window is open across Europe, and there is plenty of gossip swirling around. Transfer Talk brings you all the latest buzz on rumours, comings, goings and, of course, done deals!
Real Madrid are making concrete steps to secure a deal for Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold, according to Christian Falk.
The 25-year-old is under contract at Anfield until 2025, and with no decision yet made on an extension, the England international could depart the Reds this summer.
Real Madrid have previously been linked with a move for Alexander-Arnold, and whilst a deal has not yet materialised, with just one year remaining on his current contract, Madrid could use this to their advantage, with Liverpool reluctant to lose him as a free agent next year.
The chances of a departure could also increase following the end of Jurgen Klopp’s reign as manager. The German has been replaced by Arne Slot and it is unclear whether the new boss will have any impact on Alexander-Arnold’s chances of staying at the club.
Alexander-Arnold has spent the entirety of his career at Liverpool, winning the Premier League, Carabao Cup, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League in the process and may be interested in a new challenge. The report reveals that he finds a move to the Spanish giants appealing and has been in contact with the club over the last month.
– Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies could yet agree a new deal with the German outfit, despite Real Madrid interest, suggests Sport. The report reveals that the Canada international is not happy with Los Blancos’ strategy of waiting to see if Bayern will reduce their asking price for the left-back. Whilst Davies was strongly linked with a move away from the Bavarian club, it is reported that new manager Vincent Kompany is keen to keep the defender and has pushed Bayern to meet his demands of an annual salary of €16m.
– Atletico Madrid have identified Sporting CP forward Viktor Gyökeres as a potential target this summer, per Rudy Galetti. With Atleti set to lose Álvaro Morata, the Spanish outfit are in need of attacking reinforcements. It is reported that Gyokeres has been identified by Atletico Madrid as a “suitable alternative” for Morata, with Sporting willing to consider proposals in the region of his release clause of €100m. Alongside Gyokeres, it is reported that Atleti are also interested in striking a deal for Manchester City‘s Julián Álvarez, as they look to add an established forward to their ranks.
– Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah will likely depart the club following their preseason tour to the United States, amid interest from Crystal Palace and West Ham United, reveals Football Insider. The report reveals that the Gunners will look to secure a £30m fee for the striker, who has struggled for consistent minutes at the Emirates Stadium.
– Manchester United will prioritise a deal for Lille defender Leny Yoro over Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt, according to TeamTalk. The report indicates that positive talks between Yoro’s entourage and United have taken place, which has given the Red Devils hope that they can secure a deal for the 18-year-old this summer. Whilst De Ligt has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford, the report reveals that United would prioritise securing a deal for Yoro over the Netherlands international.
– Manchester United are willing to part ways with midfielder Casemiro at a “huge loss” amid Saudi Arabian interest, reveals Football Insider. The 32-year-old is reportedly one of the highest earners at Old Trafford and, following a disappointing 2023-24 season, the fallen Premier League giants could look to offload the Brazilian. Casemiro joined for £70m, however, it is reported that the new co-owners of United will cut their losses and allow the midfielder to leave for well under this figure to make way for midfield targets of their own.
