JBC opens CA, Sandigan posts

MANILA, Philippines — The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) has opened applications and recommendations for associate justice posts in the Court of Appeals (CA) and the anti-graft court Sandiganbayan.

According to a notice by the JBC on June 26, the post of CA Associate Justice Victoria Isabel Paredes will be vacant as she will compulsorily retire on July 1.

Meanwhile, Sandiganbayan Associate Justice Edwin Sorongon will compulsorily retire on Nov. 8.

The JBC said interested applicants may access the JBC Online Registration and Application System through the Philippine Judiciary Platform and submit an online application until August 12.

Applicants will be screened and verified to check the completeness and accuracy of their documentary requirements within two working days.

Those who prefer to send their documentary requirements through registered mail or private courier should make sure that their documents are complete, updated and received by the JBC.

The applicant should send through email a copy of the mailing receipt on the same day.

The JBC said all applicants, except incumbent justices, are required to have undergone, completed and passed the Pre-Judicature Program for Appellate Courts of the Philippine Judicial Academy.
