The summer transfer window is set to open across Europe soon and there are plenty of moves in the works and gossip swirling around. Transfer Talk brings you all the latest buzz on rumours, comings, goings and, of course, done deals!
Chelsea have approached Crystal Palace to discuss winger Michael Olise‘s release clause, reports Fabrizio Romano.
Olise reportedly has a release clause in his current contract worth roughly £60 million, which could be triggered this summer. It is reported that Chelsea have also requested permission from Palace to speak to Olise and his entourage, as the Blues look to secure his signature this summer, following an impressive season at Selhurst Park.
Olise registered 10 goals and six assists from just 19 Premier League outings last season, emerging as one of the brightest talents in the league.
Whilst Chelsea are keen on a move, they will face competition, with the tweet indicating that several clubs are monitoring the 22-year-old.
However, a potential stumbling block for Chelsea could be their lack of UEFA Champions League football next season. The west London outfit endured a disappointing 2023-24 season, finishing sixth and qualifying for the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Other clubs reported to be interested — such as Arsenal, Manchester City and Bayern Munich — can all guarantee Champions League football next season.
– Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher is hopeful of renewing his contract with the Premier League side, reports Football Insider. The 24-year-old sees his contract expire at Stamford Bridge next year and there has been little progress regarding a new deal for the Cobham graduate. It is reported that Gallagher will not be forced out of the west London club this summer, with the playmaker still keen on renewing his deal with his boyhood club.
– Newcastle United will look to secure a deal for Chelsea winger Noni Madueke, reports TeamTalk. It is reported that the 22-year-old is seeking a move this summer, having struggled to impress at Stamford Bridge. The report reveals that Chelsea will allow Madueke to leave the club, should they receive an adequate offer. Newcastle are understood to be interested, however, Crystal Palace have also been named as an interested party.
– Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson is a priority target for Saudi Pro League outfit Al Nassr, reports Rudy Galetti. It is reported that the Saudi club are evaluating their transfer budget for the summer as they look to add a new goalkeeper. Whilst Alisson has been identified as a priority target, it is reported that a move will be difficult. Therefore, Al Nassr are also weighing up a potential move for Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny, who likely represents a more straightforward deal.
– Genoa have sent a formal approach to Tottenham Hotspur for defender Djed Spence, reports Fabrizio Romano. It has been reported that Spurs are willing to allow Spence to depart the club this summer, after failing to establish himself with the Premier League side. The 23-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Genoa, where he impressed. It is reported that negotiations are ongoing between Spurs and the Italian outfit, with Spurs’ final decision to be made soon.
– Sporting CP are currently unwilling to lower their asking price for forward Viktor Gyökeres, amid Arsenal interest, reports The Sun. The Swedish striker has a release clause of £85m, however, the Gunners are currently only willing to negotiate a deal between £50-60m, which Sporting are not receptive to. It is reported that Sporting will look to raise funds by facilitating alternative departures, such as defender Ousmane Diomande, who is also on the radar of Arsenal and Manchester United.
