Earlier, Romualdez said the goal of the meeting is to “align the legislative agendas of both chambers.”
Although the House of Representatives had already finished and passed all the priority measures requested by President Ferdinand Marcos, Romualdez said he still wanted to hear the possible recommendations from the newly installed Senate chief.
Aside from the two leaders, Senate Majority Leader Francis Tolentino, House Majority Leader Manuel Jose Dalipe, Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio Gonzales Jr., Deputy Speaker David Suarez and House Committee on Appropriations Chairman Zaldy Co, among others, were also present at the meeting.
Congress went on recess and will resume for the third regular session on July 22, when the third State of the Nation Address of Marcos will be delivered.
