The summer transfer window won’t reopen in Europe for another month, but there are plenty of moves in the works and gossip swirling around. Transfer Talk brings you all the latest buzz on rumours, comings, goings and, of course, done deals!

Atletico Madrid‘s great desire for the summer transfer window is Manchester City forward Julián Álvarez, according to MARCA.

Diego Simeone’s side reportedly aren’t willing to meet the €38 million release clause of Villarreal striker Alexander Sørloth or pay the €40m required to sign Girona‘s Artem Dovbyk.

Los Colchoneros are also aware that they can’t match Man City financially, but are keen to take any possible opportunity to bring in Álvarez due to the jump in quality they feel the FIFA World Cup winner can provide them.

They hope that giving the 24-year-old guarantees of a bigger role in the side than he would get at the Etihad Stadium will be enough to persuade the Argentine to move — an angle that will only intensify if the Citizens sign any more attackers this transfer window.

Atleti haven’t officially communicated anything yet but have made their initial tests to gauge the forward’s receptiveness to joining them.

International teammates Rodrigo De Paul, Nahuel Molina and Ángel Correa will use the Copa América to convey the high esteem that Alvarez is held in at the Wanda Metropolitano, as well as mentioning the benefits they have and how much they would suit him.

There will also be work to see whether or not Alvarez would be interested in a move, although even if he is, it would be complicated dealing with Man City.

Barcelona are keen on Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva but are aware that a deal will be difficult to complete, reports Florian Plettenberg, with new manager Hansi Flick is holding the 29-year-old in high regard. Talks about a new loan deal for João Cancelo are ongoing while a final decision on João Félix‘s future hasn’t been made yet.

Real Madrid are still working on a deal to sign Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies, reports Fabrizio Romano, who adds that new contacts have been held this week. Bayern have told the 23-year-old to accept their new contract proposal or leave, while Los Blancos won’t pay the widely reported €50m fee and will only sign him on favourable conditions.

Chelsea have made RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko and Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise their priorities for the transfer window, reports Foot Mercato. They add that the Blues have made contact with both players’ representatives. Football Transfers have also reported that Chelsea have turned their attention to Girona striker Dovbyk after ending their interest in Napoli‘s Victor Osimhen.

Looking at the defence, Fabrizio Romano has reported that Tosin Adarabioyo completed a medical on Tuesday. The 26-year-old will sign this week having left Fulham as a free agent when his contract expired.

– There is also a possible Chelsea outgoing, as The Athletic report that Aston Villa have held preliminary talks with the Blues about a move to sign Conor Gallagher. The 24-year-old midfielder is entering the final year of his Chelsea contract and Villa are in contact with his camp. Chelsea are among the clubs interested in Villa forward Jhon Durán.

Juventus could include Dean Huijsen in a deal to sign Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners, reports Calciomercato, with manager Gian Piero Gasperini looking for a centre-back due to Giorgio Scalvini‘s injury. There will still be negotiations about the figures involved in the deal, with Atalanta valuing Koopmeiners at no less than €60m while Juventus think that Huijsen is worth at least €30m.
