Priscila Nalundasan, voice actor behind ‘Batibot’s’ Manang Bola, dies at 60
Voice actor Priscila Nalundasan, who gave life to Manang Bola, one of the beloved characters in the 1980s children’ show “Batibot,” has died, her family and friends confirmed. She was 60.
Priscila’s demise was first made public by her son Jaymar through a tribute post on his Facebook page on Friday, May 10.
“Kahit kailan hindi namin ikinahiya kung gaano namin kamahal ang mga magulang namin. Hindi magiging sapat lahat ng nagawa namin para sa kanila. Panghihinayang na lang sa mga hindi pa nagagawa,” he said, alongside a YouTube video he dedicated to his mother on her 60th birthday in November.
“Gusto ko lang po magsabog ng pagmamahal sa gitna ng napakatinding kalungkutan. Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng nagmamahal din sa mga magulang namin,” he added.
Jaymar did not immediately disclose further details on Priscila’s death, but he said in a separate post that the late voice actor had diabetes.
Among those who remembered Priscila was veteran actor Bodjie Pascua, who portrayed Kuya Bodjie in “Batibot.”
“Heartbroken to find out that Rose Nalundasan, our dearest Manang Bola, passed away this morning,” he said on Facebook Friday, sharing photos of them together with their friends.
“Love you, dear friend. Sobra kitang mami-miss Rose,” he addressed Priscila. “Rest in peace.”
Priscila’s last TV appearances include her guesting in the GMA game show “Family Feud” with her “Batibot” team in February last year.
“Batibot,” modeled after American educational show “Sesame Street,” first aired in the early 1980s and ran until the late 1990s.
