Shabu worth over P3.5M seized in Camarines Sur buy-busts

LEGAZPI CITY — Authorities arrested six suspected drug personalities and recovered more than P3.5 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in separate buy-bust operations on Wednesday, March 13 in Camarines Sur.

Police Brigadier General Andre Perez Dizon, Bicol regional police director, said in a report that the suspects identified as Sam, 52; Lian, 47; Ed, 47, and a 16-year-old boy were arrested at 7:44 p.m. in Barangay Tara in Sipocot town

Perez said the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the police recovered two knot-tied transparent plastic sachets of shabu weighing 500 grams worth P3.4 million.

In Barangay Buluang in Baao town, two suspects identified as Boyc, 32, and Vin, 28, were also arrested in a separate operation at 10:13 p.m.

Authorities also recovered seven sachets or 20 grams of shabu worth P136,000.

The police are investigating the source of the illegal drugs.

The suspects face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
