MMDA: No Contact Apprehension Policy remains suspended
MANILA, Philippines — The No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP) remains suspended, contrary to a circulating online post announcing its resumption, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said on Wednesday.
“Nananatilig suspendido ang operasyon ng NCAP mula pa noong 2022 bunsod na rin ng pagpapalabas ng temporary restraining order ng Supreme Court,” the MMDA said in a Facebook post.
(The NCAP has been suspended since 2022 due to the issuance of a temporary restraining order by the Supreme Court.)
It also advised the public not to be deceived by messages that they receive on social media.
“Mabuting alamin muna ang pinanggalingan ng impormasyon o iberipika mula sa mga lehitimong sources,” it added.
(It’s good to first determine the source of information or verify it from legitimate sources.)
The public was also advised to use the MMDA hotline number 136 or via official social media accounts to get more information on the NCAP and other MMDA-related issues and concerns.
