Miaa cancels a dozen international flights due to bad weather

MANILA, Philippines — Several international flights to and from Hong Kong and China have been canceled on Friday due to bad weather, Manila International Airport Authority (Miaa) announced on Friday.

The flight cancellations come as Super Typhoon “Saola” (locally known as Goring) approaches Hong Kong and China.

Based on China’s National Meteorological Center, Saola is expected to land in Huilai county in Guangdong and Hong Kong on Friday (September 1).

The Center predicted Saola could be among the five strongest typhoons to land in Guangdong since 1949.
