MANILA, Philippines — Filipinos in Sudan are advised to leave that country immediately to ensure their safety as the United Nations warned that the country is on the brink of a “full-scale civil war,” potentially destabilizing the entire region.

“The Philippine embassy in Cairo strongly reiterates its call to all Filipinos in Sudan to leave the country immediately to ensure their safety,” the embassy said in its advisory.

The Philippine government also reiterated that it continues to assist Filipinos who wish to evacuate Sudan.
