PH COVID-19 positivity rate at 6.4% for 4 days straight — Octa

MANILA, Philippines — The country’s COVID-19 positivity rate remained at 6.4 percent from July 5 to 8, according to Octa Research fellow Guido David.

In a series of Twitter posts, David’s updates revealed that the rate stayed the same for four consecutive days, with new cases ranging from 300 to 400 nationwide.

Based on the Department of Health’s (DOH) recent data, David reported 347 new coronavirus infections nationwide as of July 8, with 75 cases from the National Capital Region.

Given these figures, David projected that the country might record 350 to 450 new COVID-19 cases on July 9.

Citing the DOH’s latest COVID-19 tracker, David said the Philippines had logged 4,167,606 cases with 6,553 active patients, 4,094,569 recoveries, and 66,484 deaths.
