Jackie Lou Blanco reveals regret over separation from Ricky Davao
Jackie Lou Blanco spoke about her regrets in life, confessing that she wishes she did not part ways with her husband, actor Ricky Davao.
The actress disclosed this during her interview for “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Friday, June 9.
“I have many regrets but after a while, you need to move on and say, ‘OK, this is what I’ve learned and kung ano man ‘yung hindi ko ginawang tama dati, hindi ko na siya gagawin,’” she said. “Kasi ‘yun lang ‘yung pwede mong gawin e.”
“It’s the learning—what you learned from that na pwede mong i-share sa iba (which you can share to others) who are going through that and after a while, you need to forgive yourself for the wrong things that you have done,” she added.
Abunda then asked Blanco if she would change anything in her past if she could, to which she responded, “Sana hindi kami naghiwalay ni Ricky (Ricky and I should have never separated), only because I can see how affected my children were.”
“Although they are very understanding, you know that they have been affected in many ways,” she added. “So sana hindi na lang [kami naghiwalay] para hindi sila naapektuhan in those ways.” (We should have never broken up so that the children would never have been affected in those ways.)
“What I can only do now—both of us— is to still co-parent and to still, I guess, do what we can with what we have now kasi hindi mo na pwedeng baguhin ‘yon e (because we cannot change that fact),” she continued.
“If I have to tell Ricky something that I cannot say in person, I text him,” she added. “Sometimes he’ll answer, sometimes he doesn’t answer, but even if he doesn’t answer, kung ano man ‘yung nilalapit ko sa kanya [ay] ginagawan niya ng paraan (he attends to whatever I ask him to). So, OK na sa akin ‘yon.” (So, I’m already OK with that.)
Blanco and Davao got married in 1989. The pair have three children together, namely Arabella, Rikki Mae and Kenneth. /ra
