SCNext Top 25: Ranking the best high school girls’ basketball teams
Sidwell Friends (D.C.) won the second annual GEICO Invitational, defeating The Webb School (Tenn) 52-50 in a thriller. After Michigan State signee Bree Robinson hit a game-tying 3-pointer for Webb with 7 seconds left, Duke signee Jadyn Donovan hit a buzzer-beating layup to give Sidwell the victory.
The Webb School returns to the rankings following its tournament performance, which included a 61-41 win over top-10 La Jolla Country Day (Calif.)
Montverde Academy (Fla.) used a 54-43 road win over No. 24 Morris Catholic (N.J.) and a crucial 67-60 win over Long Island Lutheran (N.Y.) to jump inside the top three of the rankings.
Elsewhere, Xamiya Walton, ranked No. 55 in the espnW Super 60 for the 2024 class, had games of 25, 50, 28 and 41 points last week for Butler Prep (Ill.). She went 15-for-23 from distance in her 50-point effort against Comer (Ill.).
