Cagayan logs another COVID-19 death
TUGUEGARAO CITY––Another fatality related to COVID-19 was recorded in Cagayan province, according to local health officials on Monday, June 6.
The patient’s death raised to 48 the province’s total number of people who have died due to the viral disease since the pandemic struck in 2020, data from Cagayan’s Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit showed.
It said the latest fatality, logged on June 3, was from Lasam town.
As of Sunday, Tuguegarao has six active COVID-19 cases, while Gonzaga town has four. Alcala and Santa Teresita towns logged one case each.
Provincial Health Officer Carlos Cortina hoped that the number of COVID-19 cases would not increase in the next few days despite an uptick of infections in the National Capital Region.
