Ridge of high pressure area to bring fair weather, says Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — The ridge of high-pressure area (HPA) will bring generally fair weather across the country on Friday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

In its early morning forecast, the state weather bureau cited a ridge of HPA extending from the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas.

But Pagasa weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said isolated rains and thunderstorms may still be experienced throughout the day, especially from afternoon to evening.

“Sa Metro Manila at ‘yong buong bansa, wala naman masyadong kaulapan kaya fair weather conditions [tayo rito],” he noted. “Bahagyang maulap hanggang sa maulap na kalangitan ‘yong inaasahan natin. And then, ‘yong mga pag-ulan, isolated rain showers and thunderstorms lang.”

(In Metro Manila and in the rest of the country, it’s not too cloudy so fair weather conditions will prevail. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms, however, may still be expected.)

Bulquerin also said no gale warning has been raised over the country’s seaboards, indicating safe sailing conditions.
