No LPA, but cloudy skies expected in northern, central Luzon due to habagat — Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — No low pressure area (LPA) or tropical cyclone is expected to enter the country, but the state weather bureau said that cloudy skies with rains may persist over Northern and Central Luzon through the weekend due to the southwest monsoon or habagat.

Weather updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Friday afternoon showed cloud bands moving in from the western seaboards of Luzon to the northern parts like Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and some parts of Central Luzon.

For Metro Manila and the rest of the country, Pagasa said that fair weather may occur in the coming days but isolated rains may prevail every afternoon.

For Saturday, Pagasa said that cloudy skies and rains would push temperatures over the northern provinces down, as Tuguegarao may see something between 25 to 31 degrees Celsius, Laoag with 25 to 29 degrees, and Baguio with 17 to 21 degrees.
