Cagas’ entire slate wins Digos City

DIGOS CITY — The entire slate of Hugpong Digoseños led by incumbent Mayor Josef Fortich Cagas won the just concluded political battle here based on the unofficial results aggregated from Comelec data as of 10:02 am on Monday.

The data which covered 162 of the 165 clustered precincts or 98.18 percent of the election returns showed that reelectionist Cagas garnered 66,169 votes against his rival, former Digos City Mayor Joseph Peñas, who got 23,306 votes.

Vice Mayor Johari Baña who is also seeking reelection for his second term likewise garnered the highest 61,646 votes against his opponent Provincial Board Member Lani Gabutero, who got 23,003 votes.

The entire team of Hugpong Digoseños also grabbed all the 10 available slots for the city council for the year 2022 to 2025. They included Liza Cagas, who got 53,423 votes; Rey Aballe, 50,806 votes; King Latasa, 49,586; Michael Latasa, 46,025; Danny Canastra , 44,837; Marc Dominic Fernandez, 44,820; Badong Dumogho, 42,480; Ching Cadungog, 39,266; Jay Aldeguer, 37,915; and Reynaldo Hermosisima, 35,761.

The other incumbent city councilors in the lineup included Rey Aballe, King Latasa, Marc Dominic Fernandez, Badong Dumogho, Ching Cadungog; and Jay Aldeguer.
