Lacson admits having regrets for joining Partido Reporma
BAY, Laguna — Presidential candidate Senator Panfilo Lacson on Saturday admitted having regrets for joining Partido Reporma, saying he “miscalculated” the politicians there.
To recall, Lacson earlier parted ways with the Partido Reporma after party president former House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez and the group’s Davao del Norte bloc decided to endorse another presidential contender.
“Sana di na lang ako nag-Partido. I could have done better running as an indpendent in the first place, looking back,” Lacson told reporters here in a press conference when asked about his regrets as the campaign ends.
“Na-miscalculate ko ang mga politicians being a long-time politician. Well, I don’t even look at myself as a politician. ‘Di ko tintingnan ang sarili ko bilang politko kaya siguro ako—sabihin nating naisahan,” he added.
Nevertheless, Lacson maintained having no “ill feelings” about what happened.
“No heartaches…after all, elections is just one day pero there are lessons learned. Ang regret ko nga lang—because this is my last run—I want be able to apply the lessons learned sa sarili ko. That’s my only regret,” he added.
Another thing Lacson felt a bit regretful about is holding more pit stops in less visited areas during their three-month campaign.
