Senate, CA urged to release 2 detained Pharmally execs
MANILA, Philippines — The legal counsel of two detained Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation officials have called on the Senate and Court of Appeals for the release of his clients.
Lawyer Ferdinand Topacio, in a Twitter post on Friday, said his clients Pharmally director Linconn Ong and corporate secretary and treasurer Mohit Dargani are being “unfairly imprisoned.”
Topacio also pointed out that the two “has been languishing in jail with no charges, much less a crime committed.”
“Justice delayed is truly justice denied, not only for the litigants, but for their loved ones who also suffer, especially when the head of the family is unfairly imprisoned,” the lawyer continued.
It can also be recalled that Ong and Dargani have begged to be released and be held under house arrest instead.
Ong and Dargani have been detained at the Pasay City Jail since November last year after they failed to produce Pharmally’s financial documents in connection with the committee’s probe on the government’s alleged anomalous deal with the company.
