NCAA: Surging San Beda outclasses Arellano for 5-0 start

San Beda got clobbered inside the paint but was far too efficient on the offensive end to pummel Arellano, 82-68, at the resumption of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament on Easter Sunday.

James Kwekuteye tallied 14 points and Gab Cometa added 11 for the hot-streaking Red Lions, who had to overcome the Chiefs’ strong presence in the shaded area with accurate shooting and methodical playmaking.

The unbeaten Red Lions’ fifth straight win caused the Chiefs to absorb their fourth setback in the company of the Perpetual Altas and the San Sebastian College Stags at 2-4.

Kalen Doromal had 16 points and Raymart Sablan contributed 10 for the Chiefs, who overpowered the Red Lions in rebounding, 45-32, including 20 on the offensive glass.
