I am a woman immigrant and artist based in Dundas, Ontario, and I wanted to share my story.

I first came to Canada on vacation in 2015 and I fell in love with the country and the people. When I went back to France, I had only one idea: moving to Canada. That became my dream and my obsession.

It was not easy at the age of 35 to change countries and to quit everything to move to Canada with my husband; but after three years of research and hard work we finally arrived in Canada.

I will never forget when we landed in Toronto with four suitcases to start our new life.  I am very proud of this moment. I know now that I can do difficult things and no dream is impossible.

When I first came here, I fell in love with the immensity of the sky in Canada. I became fascinated by the beauty of the clouds.

Peaceful Confidence: Clouds can have a profound effect on our mood, and even on our stress levels.

And during the pandemic, I experienced a life-changing moment when I had to stay home and could not travel. I had spent the last 25 years traveling the world for my job in air logistics. But being grounded, not able to travel, and not able to see the clouds from above in a plane made me realize how much I loved them.

That’s when I decide to turn my passion into art to bring colour and serenity to the world during these difficult times.

My art with the clouds is a beautiful way to invite people to self-love and tolerance. Like the clouds we are all different but that’s what makes us beautiful. You want to see variety in the clouds. You don’t want to see always the same clouds. For people, it is the same. Our differences are what make the world a beautiful place.

We all have talents to share with the world. Nothing is too small. Nothing is too stupid.

Unlike other cloud photographers, I use the camera more like a canvas: I “paint” on these photos to create images that bring a sense of tranquility and connection to nature inside the home.

I am proud to share the beauty and the serenity of the Canadian clouds.

My advice to other immigrants, especially women, is to be okay with your accent. When I arrived in Canada, I was very self-conscious about my English and my accent, and that affected my self-confidence especially at work.  Now, I know that what is the most important is your energy and your desire to work hard. People will see your goodness regardless of your accent or your English.

People in Canada see that differences make us stronger and we can learn from each other. So just be you. Shine your light and do not worry about your accent or your English. You will always find people who are inspired by you or people who need your work and your energy.

You have a lot of good things to bring to Canada. Canada needs you too.
