Bacolod mayor supports Sara
BACOLOD CITY — Mayor Evelio Leonardia of this city has decided to support Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio for vice-president but has yet to decide whom to support for the presidency.
“I am supporting Inday Sara Duterte, there is no doubt about that,” Leonardia said in an interview on March 1 at the Negros Press Club.
He said the Davao mayor helped Bacolod City even before she decided to run for vice-president.
She provided the city with a swab test machine and helped Bacolod avail of P20-million assistance for displaced workers at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It is an ongoing process. No decision was made in a recent Grupo Progreso meeting,” he said referring to who to support for the presidency.
The majority of the Grupo Progreso members have joined the Nacionalista Party.
