2 alleged drug syndicate members fall in Zambales

CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan — Police on Monday, February 21, arrested one of Central Luzon’s most wanted persons who is allegedly the leader of a drug syndicate.

Col. Rommel Ochave, Bulacan police director, identified the suspect as Gerardo Talastas, 49, from Pulilan town.

Ochave said Talastas is also facing multiple charges for rape, acts of lasciviousness, and unjust vexation in different Bulacan courts.

Talastas has been tagged as one of the leaders of the Serrano Criminal Gang, which is involved in illegal drug operations in the towns of Pulilan and Plaridel.

Col. Jesus Manalo, Plaridel chief of police, said Talastas went into hiding in Nueva Ecija province but recently went to a relative’s house in Plaridel where he was finally arrested. INQ
