Multimedia celebrity and visual artist Heart Evangelista went viral online over the weekend after posting a topless photo on Instagram where she has over 5 million followers.
The style icon, who had broken into the Paris and New York Fashion Weeks these past years for her impeccable taste and fashion sense, instantly earned praises for the sophisticated albeit sensual picture by photographer Charisma Lico, which she simply captioned,“Treasure yourself every single day.”
With her long hair swept away from her face in a bun and a trio of earrings lining her right ear, Evangelista had her back to the camera but angled just enough to the right to show the bottom of her right breast with the rest covered by her crossed arms.
As of press time, the photo has garnered 480,000 likes on Instagram and more than 4,000 comments from netizens, including such celebrities like Angelika de la Cruz, Mark Bautista, Lovi Poe, Alex Gonzaga and Maja Salvador, among many others.
In general, the photo was positively received with endless praises all around, but there still remained a number of netizens who questioned why the 35-year-old celebrity who happens to be the wife of former senator and incumbent Sorsogon Gov. Francis “Chiz” Escudero dared to post a topless image.
One user in particular,@cham_momin, asked in the comments section, “What will Chiz think? If he likes it, then fine.”
Spotting the criticism, Evangelista engaged the netizen and simply replied, “He told me to post it. He said I should be proud.”
Currently in between shows for her mother studio GMA network, Evangelista’s last program was 2019’s “Starstruck,” an original reality talent competition where she served as one of the judges for the first time.
The former child actress, who is very active on her official pages online, takes an annual break from showbiz projects for a few months to work on her paintings and fashion endeavors. She also frequently visits her husband in Sorsogon to support him in various engagements and pursues her own livelihood projects as provincial first lady, many of them related to the arts and advocacies for women. Moreover, the screen goddess is a prominent animal rights advocate with membership in the Philippine Animal Welfare Society.
