What it is: A collection of haircare products from the Vancouver-based company AG Hair that targets repair.
The release includes four products: Vita C Shampoo (an antioxidant-rich cleanser that features plant-based squalane to help lock in moisture); Vita C Conditioner (an vegan-friendly cream that features vegetable protein among its ingredients to nourish strands); Repair Serum (a leave-in vegan-friendly formula), Slip (a dry oil spray that strengthens strands and “locks in moisture”) and Reconstruct (a deep hydrating masque that boasts sunflower seed extract, shea butter and Abyssinian Oil among its hair-benefiting highlights).
The products are free of ingredients such as gluten, sulfates, paraben, alcohol and more. The sale of the products in the collection see a portion of the proceeds go toward the charity One Girl Can.
What we say: After several colour treatments and semi-regular use (ahem, or abuse) of hot tools, our tester’s hair was in need of a little help.
With the hopes of restoring moisture, shine and softness, she went all-in with the products in this new range. The shampoo is thick and has a “rich” feel, leaving hair feeling clean and soft. The conditioner gave her hair a much-needed dose of moisture. The Repair Serum, while much thicker than what one might usually consider a ‘serum’, provided an extra hit of moisture and control.
But it was the Slip product, a dry-oil spray, that become a fast favourite among the products in this lineup. The lightweight spray, whether used as a sort of sealant on towel-dried hair or a frizz fighter on already dry locks, was a welcome addition to our tester’s regular hair routine. The formula instantly made hair appear more smooth and shiny. It may be the perfect solution for those who need a little control, but have hair that’s too fine to support weightier solutions.
