To offer help towards customers who may have been affected by the Taal volcano unrest, AXA Philippines extends the due date for premium payments to 90 days (instead of the usual 30 days) for policyholders in selected affected areas in Batangas, Cavite, and Laguna.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families who are heavily affected by this natural calamity. We offer this amnesty program to help our customers and give them one less thing to worry about, while they try to restore their lives,” said AXA Philippines president and chief executive officer Rahul Hora.
The assistance program will help AXA customers with life insurance policies. All Batangas province residents are covered by the amnesty.
In Cavite, policyholders in Alfonso, Amadeo, Indang, Mendez, Silang and Tagaytay City may avail of the amnesty. Also qualified are AXA clients in Calamba City, Laguna.
Under the amnesty program, any payment deduction via account value (for life insurance plans with unit-linked investment features) will be reversed if payments are made before the 90th day. For traditional life insurance plans with no account value, premium payments can be made until 90 days after the due date.
Premium policyholders living in the affected areas are advised to take note of the new payment due dates. January 2020 premium dues may be paid until April 2020, February premium dues until May 2020, and March premiums may be settled until May 2020.
Premium dues starting April 2020 will revert to the normal 30-day grace period. Payments have to be made by May 2020 if premiums are originally due in April 2020.
