IN time for the 60th anniversary since the launch of the first iconic Grand Seiko (GS) timepiece, the brand held its first-ever craftsman event in Manila with no less than its current Craftsman Takuya Nishinaka as a special guest.

The GS event was an immersive celebration of Grand Seiko’s legacy and world-class quality.

Held at the Lexus Manila Showroom, guests stepped into a space lit by the rich shade of GS blue, imbibing the brand’s iconic identity and complemented with the swooning melody of the Koto.

Within its walls was an LED tunnel that elaborately introduced Grand Seiko’s product timeline, an elegant display of the Lexus RX 350 and a table for Japanese calligraphist Oj Hofer, who personalized guests’ names and performed Ensō calligraphy, a traditional form of Japanese art. Among these, the spotlight shone especially on four GS anniversary pieces that were showcased for guests to try.

Grand Seiko is a luxury brand that offers timepieces made by skilled craftsmen by hand in two exclusive watchmaking studios, using parts produced in-house. It has long been the grail watch for many horologists, because of its combination of understated elegance and the functionality that espouses the uniquely Japanese aesthetics in details.

With a global theme that brought thoughtfulness to “The Nature of Time,” the launch also highlighted the latest sought-after timepiece by global enthusiasts, the GS Snowflake.
