Court defers Enrile plunder trial

THE Sandiganbayan’s Third Division canceled the plunder trial of former Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile in connection with the Priority Development Assistance Fund or pork barrel scam.
This was after the prosecution filed a motion to amend the pretrial order with Enrile.
The court gave the defense time to comment on the motion.
A pretrial order—which is issued by the court—contains the documentary evidence and witnesses to be presented as well as issues to be resolved during trial.
Enrile, who is out on bail, signed the pretrial order on Jan. 29, 2020.
Enrile’s co-accused, Jessica Lucila “Gigi” Reyes and Janet Lim-Napoles, are also facing trial for the same case.
